Through a selective fellowship and open leadership training programs, the Birnbaum Women’s Leadership Network (BWLN) strives to foster an environment that nurtures women’s achievement, and engages the legal profession, to better enable women lawyers to thrive in law school and in their chosen careers. The Women’s Leadership Fellows Program (WLFP) is a selective co-curricular program that provides training in effective communication, self-awareness and resilience, seeking and receiving feedback, and professional development, among other key leadership skills.
Fellows are selected early in their first year at NYU Law and participate that January in the Sara Moss Women’s Leadership Training Program, an intensive leadership development bootcamp, named in honor of Sara Moss ’74, a BWLN founding supporter. The BWLN also offers leadership development to NYU Law women who are not part of the fellows program through a variety of programming, including standalone sessions on topics such as negotiation, effective teamwork, self-awareness and work-style navigation, and others.
